CREATING A NEW LUXURY DEVELOPMENT AT THE NORTHERN END OF THE ESTATE

The Knightsbridge Estate is undergoing significant and ambitious redevelopment at the northern end, at the junction of Sloane Street and Brompton Road. It will deliver seven flagship retail stores, 67,000 sq ft of grade A office accommodation, 33 luxury rental apartments and a destination roof-top restaurant. The historical façade is being carefully restored and some of the original architectural features from the 1900s design will be reinstated, such as a spectacular ornate cupola above No. 1 Sloane Street.

IMPROVING THE PUBLIC REALM

Significant improvements are being made to the public realm. The pavements on Brompton Road and Sloane Street have been widened to ease the pedestrian flow, Hooper’s Court, which links Brompton Road and Basil Street, is being completely remodelled and the Knightsbridge underground station is being substantially upgraded. A brand new tube entrance is being created further west along Brompton Road, a step-free access via two 17-person lifts located on Hooper’s Court will be introduced as well as on-platform cooling systems.

A RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPER

The development at the northern end of The Estate will achieve a BREEAM Excellent score with a specification that exceeds the sustainability requirements dictated by the current Building Regulations.

The mixed-use scheme will be served by a central plant allowing increased efficiency and an underground service yard will ensure that delivery vehicles remain off-road, significantly reducing traffic.
